Maybe in another life…..
•hawaii•
Oh, Hawaii! The thought of it just fills my head with sunshine and aloha spirit. While I might be saying ‘maybe in another life’ for now, that doesn’t stop me from planning my ultimate dream weekend in Waikiki. I’ve been mapping out every detail, imagining what it would be like to finally experience that #hawaiilife. My ideal Waikiki weekend would definitely kick off with the perfect hotel stay. I'm torn between a luxurious beachfront resort where I could wake up to the sound of waves and have direct access to the sand, or a charming boutique hotel a few blocks back that might offer a more local, intimate vibe. My lodging choice would really shape my Hawaii itinerary. If I go for the beachfront dream, I know I'd spend more time lounging by the shore, perhaps trying a beginner's surf lesson right outside my door. On the other hand, a slightly inland spot might encourage me to explore more of the vibrant streets, discover hidden cafes, and immerse myself in the city's energy, making it easier to pop into shops or find local eateries without feeling tied to a resort bubble. Compared to other nearby options like a quiet North Shore retreat, staying in bustling Waikiki means constant activity and a wide array of choices right at my fingertips, perfect for a short weekend burst of fun. Beach days in Waikiki are a must on my list. I picture myself soaking up the sun on the famous Waikiki Beach, maybe even venturing out to find a spot where I could go #swimming with #turtles – that would be an absolute dream come true! Later in the afternoon, I’d love to paddleboard or just float in the warm Pacific waters, gazing back at Diamond Head. The energy of the beach, with surfers, sunbathers, and families, feels like the quintessential Hawaii experience. And let's not forget the favorite local eats! My stomach is rumbling just thinking about it. A true diary-style journal of my weekend wouldn't be complete without a food tour. I'd start with a classic acai bowl for breakfast, fresh and fruity. For lunch, definitely a poke bowl from a local market or a plate lunch with kalua pork and lomi salmon. Evenings would be about exploring different culinary delights, from a casual food truck serving garlic shrimp to a nice dinner with fresh seafood overlooking the ocean. And, of course, no Hawaii trip is complete without trying authentic Hawaiian shave ice, piled high with tropical flavors. I envision myself journaling about each delicious bite, making sure to capture all the flavors of my #hawaiitravel. This detailed planning makes my dream feel so much closer. It’s not just about booking a flight; it’s about crafting an experience that captures the essence of Hawaii, even if it's just in my mind for now. I can almost feel the warm breeze and hear the ukulele music. What about you? What would be your perfect Waikiki weekend look like?
