Morning routine as a mom 🍼
Starting a morning routine as a mom with both a newborn and a toddler can feel overwhelming, but establishing a flexible and consistent schedule helps create calm and predictability for everyone. From my own experience, one key is to synchronize activities like feeding and playtime to accommodate both children's needs without rushing. For instance, while the newborn naps after feeding, engaging the toddler in quiet activities nearby can support independent play and reduce disruption. Incorporating simple rituals such as a morning cuddle with the newborn followed by a small breakfast ritual with the toddler builds emotional connections and sets a positive tone. Additionally, preparing parts of your morning the night before—like setting out clothes, prepping bottles, or organizing diaper bags—can reduce stress and free up time for meaningful moments. It's also important to embrace flexibility. Some mornings will be smooth, while others may require adjustments. Accepting this and adapting your routine accordingly helps maintain a positive mindset. Lastly, self-care is vital. Even small moments for hydration, a brief stretch, or deep breathing can recharge your energy and patience for the day ahead. Remember, a well-planned morning routine benefits not just the children but also supports mom’s wellbeing and confidence.
