When you are a garbage man, Mom lol
Working as a garbage man is a job that many people might not consider glamorous, but it plays a crucial role in keeping our communities clean and healthy. From my own experience, it's a job that comes with a unique set of challenges and rewards. One of the things that stands out most is the sense of camaraderie among the crew. Early mornings and tough weather conditions are common, but working as a team makes the day more manageable and often even fun. Humor, like joking with family or referencing moments such as "Mom lol," helps keep spirits high during long shifts. The work itself involves much more than just picking up trash. There’s a rhythm to the job—knowing the routes, the timing, how to efficiently collect waste while being mindful of the environment. Plus, there’s satisfaction in seeing a neighborhood transformed by your efforts. It’s also a role that requires respect for safety, quick decision-making, and physical endurance. Despite stereotypes, many garbage men take great pride in their work, knowing they contribute directly to public health. In sharing this perspective, I hope to shed light on the dignity and humor found in this profession, encouraging others to appreciate the hard work behind keeping our streets clean.
