I was told I’d never be able to have kids

I have PCOS amongst other disorders that cause infertility. My husband and I had been “trying” for 13 years. My doctor said it would be highly unlikely to happen without help. We decided that we didn’t want to do all of the shots and things associated with IVF. We had heard too many stories about people getting cancer, people getting cysts, the baby’s having problems etc etc. We didn’t want to risk all that. So, we gave up. All of a sudden, I was at work one day and I craved hummus and pumpkin spice Twinkie’s. I went to the break room at work and dipped the Twinkie in the hummus. Someone in there said ewwwww, are you pregnant?! Then, it dawned on me….I haven’t had a period in a while. Then, that same person came back to the break room and tossed a test at me and said: go take this real quick. I was flabbergasted when it read positive! So, here I am at 37 years old….with my first child! I never thought I’d love a family picture so much in my life! Thinking you will never have one puts it in a whole different realm!

... Read morePolycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal disorder that affects many women, leading to challenges with fertility. The emotional and physical toll can be immense, as the journey to conceive often involves uncertainty and heartbreak. However, it's vital to understand that many women with PCOS succeed in becoming mothers, often through various supportive measures that can help manage symptoms and improve fertility outcomes. Lifestyle changes such as maintaining a healthy diet, regular exercise, and stress management can significantly impact hormonal balance, making conception more attainable. Medical treatments, including ovulation-inducing medications and assisted reproductive techniques, are also available for those who need additional support. Community support and sharing experiences can also provide emotional comfort during what can be a lonely journey. Engaging with others who understand these struggles can inspire hope and resilience. Remember, there are paths to motherhood that may not be linear, but can still be beautifully fulfilling.

Do Not Have Kids If…
1. You don’t want to feel everything twice. Because when your baby’s embarrassed at school, it’ll hit you like you’re the one standing there. When they’re sick and you can’t fix it, you’ll want to fight the air for not letting you trade places. And when they color all over your couch, you’ll be mad
