I was told I’d never be able to have kids
I have PCOS amongst other disorders that cause infertility. My husband and I had been “trying” for 13 years. My doctor said it would be highly unlikely to happen without help. We decided that we didn’t want to do all of the shots and things associated with IVF. We had heard too many stories about people getting cancer, people getting cysts, the baby’s having problems etc etc. We didn’t want to risk all that. So, we gave up. All of a sudden, I was at work one day and I craved hummus and pumpkin spice Twinkie’s. I went to the break room at work and dipped the Twinkie in the hummus. Someone in there said ewwwww, are you pregnant?! Then, it dawned on me….I haven’t had a period in a while. Then, that same person came back to the break room and tossed a test at me and said: go take this real quick. I was flabbergasted when it read positive! So, here I am at 37 years old….with my first child! I never thought I’d love a family picture so much in my life! Thinking you will never have one puts it in a whole different realm!
