I’m frustrated that I can’t get this pull-ups more than one rep but I gotta keep going. I’m Not seeing my weight come off like my other PP journies and it’s annoying. But I have to keep reminding myself t not compare my PP journies from each other. My age is older, still breastfeeding and my circumstances are different. It doesn’t define me.
Keep showing up mamas, I struggle too!

Navigating the postpartum fitness journey can be a rollercoaster, especially when progress feels slow or different from past experiences. I’ve learned that comparing my current postpartum efforts to previous ones isn’t helpful — every postpartum journey is unique, influenced by factors like age, breastfeeding, and life circumstances. At 35 weeks postpartum, focusing on upper body workouts like assisted pull-ups, lat pulldowns, and cable exercises has helped me build strength gradually without overtaxing my body. One key insight is to celebrate small wins, such as improving from one assisted pull-up rep to multiple, rather than fixating on weight loss, which can be slower due to hormonal changes and breastfeeding demands. Incorporating exercises like elevated pushups and cable side lateral raises not only boosts muscle tone but also supports overall functional strength needed for daily parenting tasks. I also remind myself to listen to my body, balancing workout intensity with adequate rest and nutrition, which is crucial when breastfeeding. Sharing this experience with other moms on platforms like TikTok has created a supportive community that motivates me to keep showing up despite setbacks. For anyone feeling frustrated with postpartum fitness, embracing persistence and self-compassion can transform the journey from a source of stress to one of empowerment and growth.
