hi again all! i just had to try the salted caramel frosty from wendy’s before it leaves (i’m not sure if peppermint is coming back this year?) and here are my thoughts! i LOVE salted caramel or any similar flavor, so it’s usually my go-to ice cream of choice which is why this was a need, not a want.

ok, this frosty was good! did it taste like salted caramel? eh. to me, it was more of a butterscotch flavor. i know that sounds like a nitpicky, subtle difference but it really did taste more like what i envisioned the grandma mcflurry to taste like at mcdonalds earlier this year.
that being said, it was still very yummy in my opinion (but again, i like those kinds of flavors). i did see some people say theirs was a bit TOO salty, and if you’re really sensitive to salty flavors or don’t love butterscotch-adjacent flavors, i’d think about skipping this one.
have you tried it yet? do you WANT to try it? let me know your thoughts!
... Read moreWhen I'm craving a sweet indulgence, a Wendy's Frosty is often my go-to. But with so many options, I always wonder: what size should I get? Wendy's typically offers a few choices – the classic small, medium, and large. For a quick treat or a little something after a meal, a small is perfect, especially if you're just craving that iconic creamy goodness. But if you're like me and want to truly indulge, or perhaps share (though I rarely do with my Frosty!), the medium or large is definitely the way to go. I've found that the limited-time Salted Caramel Frosty usually comes in these standard sizes too, so you can pick your pleasure based on your craving!
Speaking of indulging, a common question I hear is, 'Is a Wendy's Frosty bad for you?' Honestly, a Frosty is a delicious treat, not a health drink. While I don't usually obsess over calorie counts for every single dessert, I know many of you might be curious. A typical Wendy's Frosty, whether it's the regular chocolate or vanilla, can range from around 300 calories for a small up to over 700 for a large. The Salted Caramel Frosty, with its added caramel flavor, might be on the higher end of that spectrum. It's definitely something to enjoy in moderation. For exact numbers, especially if you're tracking macros, I always recommend checking Wendy's official nutrition guide online before you order. It's packed with sugar and fat, but hey, sometimes you just need that sweet escape! I've even heard people discussing ways to boost protein in their Frosty, but for me, it's just pure dessert bliss.
My friend recently mentioned the 'Caramel Crunch Frosty Fusion,' which sounded absolutely amazing, but I haven't seen it widely available in my area. It makes me wonder if Wendy's is experimenting more with caramel in their frosty lineup, which I'd be all for! The Salted Caramel Frosty really stood out as a unique offering. I keep thinking about how that rich, creamy drink looked in its clear plastic cup, with that bright red straw just begging for a sip. The base ingredients for a Frosty are usually pretty simple – milk, sugar, cream, and cocoa for chocolate, or vanilla flavoring for the vanilla. The salted caramel adds that extra layer of flavor, making it a bit more complex and giving it that distinctive taste. I'm always curious about what goes into these limited-time offerings, and I hope they bring back other caramel-themed treats in the future, maybe even a 'caramel crunch' version for those who love a bit of texture!
Having tried the Salted Caramel Frosty, I can say it's a really fun experience. Even if it leaned more towards butterscotch for my palate, it was a delicious, creamy treat perfect for a hot day. It's one of those things you just have to try while it's around. What are your thoughts on limited-time menu items? Do you rush to try them, or do you stick to the classics? Let's chat about our favorite Wendy's treats!
This was so good, really surprised how good it was after I didn't care for the pineapple one they had for SpongeBob. But this one was good, though honestly I wouod have liked a peppermint one more.
I have not tried this Salted Caramel Frosty from Wendy’s yet! I love salted caramel. I get this salted caramel brownie from a French bakery called Amelie’s. I would love to give this a try. Looks delicious!
