i promised i’d be back again with some more drink reviews so here i am! today i’m trying the midnight drink from starbucks’ new valentines menu!
✨🌙✨🌙✨🌙✨🌙✨
ok, i really liked this drink! i love anything with coconut milk from starbucks, and this was definitely a hit! the flavors are supposed to be blackberry, sage, and green coffee extract - but i only really tasted the blackberry to be honest. it reminded me a lot of starbucks’ dragon drink, and if you like those, this is really only a step up from that. that’s not to say that dragonfruit and blackberry taste similar (to me they kind of do) but it didn’t feel like a totally brand new unique drink, and that’s okay. i still really enjoyed it!!
... Read moreAfter my initial taste test of the Starbucks Midnight Drink, I've had more time to think about its place in the vast Starbucks universe, especially since it's a limited-time Valentine's offering. My first impression was definitely positive, leaning heavily on that refreshing blackberry flavor. The drink's beautiful purple hue, as seen in the photos with its generous ice and actual berries, really adds to the experience, making it feel special. It's not just a drink; it's a little treat for the eyes too!
When the article mentioned the subtle notes of sage and green coffee extract, I admit I had to really search for them. For me, the blackberry was the star, which isn't a bad thing at all. It gives it a vibrant, fruity kick. If you're someone who loves a fruity, slightly tangy profile, this drink is right up your alley. It truly does have a unique charm, even if it reminded me a bit of the Dragon Drink's fruity base. But where the Dragon Drink is tropical, the Midnight Drink offers a darker, richer berry experience.
Speaking of comparisons, if you're a fan of the Pink Drink or the Mango Dragonfruit Refresher, but want something a little less sweet or with a more complex berry note, giving the Midnight Drink a try is a must. I found myself wondering if I could customize it next time. Maybe asking for an extra pump of blackberry, or even trying it with a splash of lemonade for an even tangier kick? That's the beauty of Starbucks, isn't it? You can tailor almost any drink to your personal preference. For those curious about the coconut milk base, which I adore, it adds a lovely creaminess and a subtle sweetness that balances the fruit without being overpowering. It's also a great dairy-free option and contributes to that smooth texture.
The search for new 'drinks from Starbucks' is always on, and seasonal menus like this Valentine's one are my favorite times to experiment. It's exciting to see what new flavors they introduce. Sometimes, these limited-edition drinks become instant favorites, and other times, they're a fun one-off. Giving this one a 3.5-star review felt right because while I enjoyed it, I also felt there was room for those other flavors – the sage and green coffee extract – to shine through a bit more.
For anyone looking to explore the 'Starbucks menu drinks' further, especially if you're drawn to refreshing, vibrant options, don't hesitate to ask your barista for recommendations based on your favorite flavors. And if you're searching for a relaxing evening drink, perhaps something to wind down with that isn't a 'sleepy girl mocktail' or caffeinated, Starbucks has some great herbal teas. But for a daytime pick-me-up or a delightful treat, the Midnight Drink definitely delivers on its fruity promise. It's a fun addition to the 'Starbucks drinks' lineup, especially for anyone looking for a visually stunning and berry-rich beverage.
Ohhh I was really curious on how this would taste. The part that throws me off is the sage, but you mention you don’t really taste much of it.
