Your flesh does not care about where you spend eternity!
Your flesh wants comfort now, pleasure now, validation now. It is short-sighted, loud, and impatient. It does not ask, āWill this cost my soul?ā It asks, āDoes this feel good today?ā And that right there is the danger.
Scripture tells us plainly that the flesh and the spirit are at war with each other. Galatians 5:17 is not poetic language, it is a warning label. If the flesh is always winning, eternity is always losing.
Your flesh will convince you that compromise is harmless, that repentance can wait, that obedience is optional, and that God understands so you can stay stuck. Lies. Your flesh does not love you. It will happily trade your future for temporary relief.
This is why dying to self is not a cute Christian phrase. It is survival. Romans 8:6 reminds us that the mind governed by the flesh leads to death, but the mind governed by the Spirit leads to life and peace. One path feels good, the other saves you.
Every time you choose prayer over impulse, obedience over emotion, discipline over desire, you are telling your flesh, āYou donāt get the final say.ā And yes, itās uncomfortable. Growth always is. Eternity is worth the discomfort.
Tell the truth, your flesh isnāt concerned with heaven or hell. But your soul is. Choose accordingly.
