Too often I see people ignoring their gallbladder health, which affects other areas of their health — especially gut health.
Your gallbladder stores bile, a combination of fluids, fat, and cholesterol which help break down fat from food in your intestine. Your gallbladder delivers bile into the small intestine and allows fat-soluble vitamins and nutrients to be more easily absorbed into your bloodstream.
What is bile? It’s a greenish-yellow fluid made of 95% water, bile salts, cholesterol, fatty acids, amino acids, phospholipids, and electrolytes.
It’s produced by the liver and is then stored in the gallbladder and released when needed.
Why is bile important?
-fat digestion and absorption
-improves slow motility
-helps remove toxins
-helps absorb fats, vitamins, and minerals
-helps eliminate estrogen
