Day 16 of 100 — Me vs Me: Becoming a Runner

Note to self: maybe not wait until 4:30pm after a full workday to lace up the running shoes. 😅 But hey, we made it out there.

✅ 20 minutes done.

🌀 Around minute 15 my right ankle started yelling at me (rude).

🧘‍♀️ Followed up with a 30-minute deep stretch session and lots of love from the massage roller stick.

Crossing fingers this is just tightness and not a real injury. 🙏🏼 Hoping I wake up tomorrow feeling strong and pain-free.

Still proud I showed up. Showing up is the win. 💪

... Read moreRunning is more than just a physical activity; it’s a mental journey that challenges and transforms us. On Day 16 of my 100-day challenge, I learned vital lessons about persistence and self-care. After a full workday, I found it tough to hit the pavement but still managed a 20-minute run. My ankle felt tight after pushing through, reminding me of the importance of listening to my body. Stretching post-run became crucial to prevent injury, and I incorporated deep stretching and massages to help. The thrill of showing up is a victory in itself! As any runner knows, consistency and resilience are keys to growth. For beginners, tips on how to ease into running include setting realistic goals, focusing on form, and scheduling runs based on your energy levels. Remember, it’s not just about speed; it's about enjoying the journey and celebrating small achievements along the way. Engaging with fellow runners and sharing experiences can also provide encouragement and motivation. From my experience, even on tough days, showing up is what counts. As I continue this challenge, I aim to embrace each run and document my progress, hoping to inspire others who might face similar struggles while pursuing their fitness goals. Let’s keep running together! #lemon8challenge #running #fitgirl #momlife #run
