The first thing that hit us was seeing the huge, illuminated Hershey Park entrance sign – it’s truly iconic! My kids, all decked out in their colorful bucket hats, were practically bouncing with excitement, giving thumbs up just like the picture perfect moment. After a quick security check, you're officially in! The first thing you notice is that unmistakable, delicious sweet aroma of chocolate wafting through the air – it's pure magic. Right past the main entrance, we found ourselves in a vibrant area. There are often street performers or characters, adding to the festive atmosphere. We immediately spotted some fun photo opportunities, like those cool themed cutouts, maybe even one with a roaring black panther! My kids absolutely loved posing there before we even hit a ride. It's a great way to capture those first moments and build anticipation. Don't rush past the initial shops and snack spots near the entrance! They’re perfect for grabbing a quick map or a little treat to kick off your day. You'll see all sorts of goodies, from Jolly Rancher to Twizzlers, and of course, plenty of Hershey's, Reese's, Hershey's Kisses, and Hershey's Miniatures. It's a delicious preview of the chocolate wonderland ahead. As you venture further, you'll start to glimpse the first thrilling attractions. From the entrance, you can often catch sight of the towering roller coaster tracks or hear the excited screams from an orange amusement park attraction or even a splash from a log flume or water ride. We always make a mental note of what we want to hit first. One of our favorite early stops is near the beautiful pink fountain – it's a lovely spot for a quick rest or another photo op before diving headfirst into the bigger thrills. For families, I can't stress enough how well-organized the park is right from the start. The staff near the Hershey Park entrance are always super friendly and helpful if you have any questions about directions or accessibility. It really makes a difference when you're trying to navigate with excited kids. Whether you're making a beeline for the most intense roller coasters or heading straight to Hershey's Chocolate World for a more interactive experience, the journey from the entrance is part of the fun.
