[DIY] Clean storage ✨ Garbage station that does not look like a trash can
After welcoming the cat, the area around the trash can was broken through with some countermeasures... This time, the garbage station designed by kneading was finally completed ✨
I want to keep my cat out of the trash!
I want to make sure that everything I have ever put fits!
I want to throw away the recyclable waste of paper that was inconvenient to throw away on the balcony here!
Be careful because there is an outlet and a gas valve on the back side!
The structure is easy to do even when collecting garbage!
And, it was the hardest to think about what kind of shape to make because there were too many conditions lol
The material was actually 12 mm thick, but I wanted to use cost and space as much as possible, so I made it 9 mm thick.
(As a result, since it is a structure that fits under the counter, even 9 mm was okay without worrying about strength 🙆♀️)
The invisible frame part is made of softwood plywood, and the visible part (front plate / drawer) is made of lauan plywood.
I couldn't fit it in the reel, but the back plate is empty at the outlet and gas valve.
Using a slide rail, dividing one front plate and attaching a hinge and a magnet catch, it became quite complicated, and it took time anyway, but it was completed ✨
When I started using it, it became very comfortable and it was worth the hard work!
It was a little disappointing that the color came out darker than I expected... Well 🤭
There are various places I want to arrange, so I will do DIY again at a slow pace. I would be grateful if you could watch over me ☺️
今回は「木製ゴミステーションを自作したい」「キッチンのゴミ箱を使いやすくしたい」「猫のいたずら対策をしたい」人向けに、私が作るときに意識したポイントを補足します。リールに入れきれない“考え方”の部分なので、これから作る方の設計メモとしてどうぞ。 1) 最初に決めるのは“捨て方” 使いやすさはサイズよりも動線で決まりました。私は「普通ゴミ」「資源ごみ（紙類）」「資源ごみ（チラシなど）」みたいに分けたかったので、まずは手持ちのゴミ箱（縦長か、横幅があるか）を並べて必要寸法を出しました。途中で増える“紙物ストック”も入れたい場合は、ゴミ箱の奥か横に薄い区画を作ると便利です。ブックエンドみたいに真ん中を仕切ると、紙が倒れにくくて見た目も整います。 2) 猫対策は「上から」「隙間」「匂い」 浮かせていても上から襲撃されることがあるので、上部の開口はできるだけ狭くするのがおすすめです。私は前板を分割して蝶番で“斜めに開く（前に倒れる）”扉っぽい形にすると、普段は閉めておけて安心でした。さらにマグネットキャッチを付けると、軽い力では開きにくくなります。隙間も狙われやすいので、扉の合わせ目は最小限に。 3) 木製DIYの材料選び（コストと見た目） 見えないフレームは針葉樹合板、見える前板や引き出しはラワン合板など、場所で使い分けると予算も見た目もバランスが取りやすいです。厚みは9mmでも、カウンター下に“すっぽり入る”構造なら意外と強度が出ます（ただしビス位置や下地は丁寧に）。 4) コンセント・ガス栓がある場合の注意 背板を全面で塞ぐと危ない＆使いにくいので、コンセントとガス栓の位置は必ず採寸して逃げを作りました。配線が当たらないように、背板をくり抜く／最初から背板を部分的に作らない、のどちらかが安心です。将来の点検も考えて、工具なしでゴミ箱を引き出せる余裕も少し見ておくと後悔しません。 5) 回収しやすい仕組み：スライドレールと“開け口” 毎日のストレスを減らすなら、横長の引き出しにスライドレールを付けるのがかなり効きました。ゴミ袋スタンド自作に近い感覚で、袋の交換がしやすくなります。また「ゴミを集める時はここを開けます」という回収用の開け口を決めておくと、作業が一気にラクになります。 6) 100均アイテムで仕切りと臭い対策 ゴミ箱自作をがっつりしなくても、セリアの生ゴミ入れやフック、ワイヤーラックは相性が良いです。中の両サイドにフックを付けて、替えのゴミ袋や掃除用手袋を掛けておくと“ここだけで完結”します。 7) 使わない収納ワゴンは思い切って処分も◎ 以前は収納ワゴンでなんとなく置き場を作っていましたが、結局ゴミ周りは「散らかる→猫が狙う」になりがちでした。ワゴンを処分して、用途をゴミステーションに一本化した方が、見た目も掃除もラクでした。 もしこれから作るなら、まずは段ボールで原寸の箱を作って、扉の開き方（斜めに開くか、横に開くか）とゴミ箱の出し入れだけ先に検証するのがおすすめです。完成後の“あれ!?ゴミ箱がにゃい…”みたいなスッキリ感、かなり快適でした。
