More plants 🌿🥰

Today was a planting day and my little garden is starting to look full in the best way. I picked up some new tomato plants, grabbed a bell pepper plant and then decided to get a little crazy and plant wildflowers in a couple pots. We’ll see how that experiment goes lol.

There’s something so satisfying about watching all these containers slowly fill up with life.

... Read morePlanting day always brings a special kind of excitement, especially when expanding a container garden filled with diverse plants. I’ve found that selecting the right soil mix is key to success—using quality garden soil blends, like those from Hales & Herbsts, can significantly boost plant health and growth. For tomatoes and bell peppers, ensuring the containers have proper drainage and are placed in a spot with at least six hours of sunlight daily encourages robust fruit production. One of my favorite parts of this gardening journey has been experimenting with wildflowers in pots. It adds a splash of natural beauty and supports local pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Starting wildflowers in pots indoors or in a sheltered outdoor spot helps protect young seedlings from harsh weather or pests. Maintaining container gardens also means frequent watering because pots can dry out quickly, especially during warm seasons. Using mulch or self-watering containers helps retain moisture and keeps plants happy. I also enjoy mixing in DIY approaches like homemade compost teas to nourish my plants organically. Watching each container gradually fill with life brings a satisfying sense of accomplishment and connection with nature. This small-scale gardening approach is not only practical for limited outdoor spaces but also rewarding as you see your efforts bloom. If you’re thinking of starting your own container garden, I highly recommend starting with easy-to-grow veggies like tomatoes and peppers alongside some colorful wildflowers for a balanced, lively garden display.
