If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you might have noticed I’ve been a bit quiet recently. To be honest, blogging has always been on my heart, but life has a way of getting in the way sometimes. Between family, work, church commitments, and just the day-to-day hustle of living, I’ve found myself overwhelmed, leaving little room to sit down and write.
It’s not that blogging isn’t important to me—far from it. In fact, I’ve had blog post ideas swirling in my head, waiting to be written. But the demands of daily life often drown out the quiet moments I need to reflect and share with you all. I’ve been juggling responsibilities, and at times, the weight of it all has left me feeling like there’s not enough time to do everything I want to do.
But here’s the thing: I’ve learned that it’s okay to step back when life gets overwhelming. Sometimes, we need to rest and recalibrate before we can move forward again. That’s where I am now—ready to return and refocus, trusting that God will help me find the right balance.
I want to thank you for your patience and continued support. I’m excited to get back to writing and sharing what’s on my heart. Life may always be busy, but I’m reminded that it’s important to carve out space for what matters, and this blog is one of those things.
Thank you for sticking with me. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with all of you and continuing this journey together.

... Read moreIt’s so easy to feel like you’re the only one drowning when trying to balance passion projects like blogging with the endless demands of daily life. I totally get it! There have been countless times I’ve looked at my spiral-bound planner, wondering how I'd fit everything in, only to grab my coffee cup and stare blankly at my desk scene, feeling completely overwhelmed. But through these ups and downs, I've learned a few things that might help if you're just officially starting your blog or struggling to keep your creative flame alive.
First off, for anyone thinking about hitting that 'publish' button for the very first time, welcome to the jungle! It's exciting but can feel daunting. One of the common challenges new bloggers face is simply getting started and then staying consistent. My biggest tip? Don't aim for perfection; aim for progress. Your first posts don't have to be Pulitzer-winning masterpieces. Just start sharing what’s on your heart. Many new bloggers get stuck on niche, design, or equipment. My advice for overcoming this? Pick a topic you genuinely love, use a simple template, and your phone can be a powerful tool for photos and quick updates. The most important thing is to build the habit.
Now, for those of us trying to juggle blogging with a full life – whether it’s family, work, or other responsibilities – finding that elusive balance is indeed a journey. I’ve found that it’s less about perfect balance and more about rhythm and intentionality. Here are a few strategies that have made a huge difference for me:
Time Blocking is Your Best Friend: I literally schedule my blogging time into my spiral-bound planner like any other appointment. Even if it’s just an hour twice a week, knowing exactly when I’ll sit down to write or plan content helps immensely. This carves out that essential 'me time' for blogging.
Batch Your Content: Instead of writing one post, editing it, finding images, and then moving to the next, try batching tasks. Dedicate one block to brainstorming ideas, another to writing drafts, and another to editing and scheduling. This creates efficiency and reduces context-switching.
Set Realistic Expectations (and Boundaries): In the early days, I struggled with the pressure to post daily or comment on every single blog. It led to burnout. I learned to set a sustainable posting schedule (e.g., once a week) and stick to it. It’s also OK to say no to extra commitments that eat into your creative time.
Embrace Imperfection: Not every post will go viral, and some weeks you might miss your schedule. That’s life! The important thing is to pick yourself up and keep going. Don't let a missed deadline derail your entire blogging journey.
Self-Care is Non-Negotiable: You can't pour from an empty cup. If you're feeling overwhelmed, step back. Take a break. Reconnect with what truly matters. For me, sometimes it means putting my phone away and simply enjoying a quiet moment with my coffee cup at my desk scene, not thinking about deadlines. This recalibration is what allows me to return with fresh energy and ideas.
Leverage Tools: Use scheduling tools for social media promotion, content calendars for planning, and even voice-to-text for drafting if you're on the go. Every little bit of efficiency helps free up time.
Remember, your blogging journey is unique. There will be seasons of intense activity and seasons where you need to pull back. The key is to find what works for you and to be kind to yourself along the way. I'm excited to continue sharing more and connecting with you all on Lemon8!
