My boss insulted me publicly
I’m lowkey panicking about what went down at work today. Earlier, we were in an team meeting when my boss made a “joke” about how I’m “dragging my feet” on tasks. I rolled my eyes without thinking “Maybe if you bothered to read your own emails for once…” And yep, dead silence. That’s when I realized everyone heard it. My heart was thudding so loud I swear people could hear it over the quiet.
Boss’s face is not happy. But his “jokes” were just insults and embarrassing people in front of the team isn’t leadership. We took a break after and my coworkers kept saying I was brave. It was risky, sure, but I’m done letting “it’s just a joke” excuse being rude. You can’t belittle someone and call that managing, period.
