Leaving the 9-5 world for good!
What would you do if your biggest career win left you with nothing?
Turns out, my setback was my setup! Losing my job was the moment I realized I was done being just a number. I used it as an opportunity to bet on myself, leave the corporate world (9-to-5) behind, and create the life I’d been searching of.
Faith, action, and my entrepreneurial mindset helped me turn challenges into opportunities—and they can for you too. It’s never too late to be who you could’ve been.
My hope is that by me sharing parts of my journey inspires you to go create. Follow along for the next video to see what I created🚀

My journey out of the 9-5 was an unexpected push, but looking back, the subtle signs that I was ready for a change were there all along. Maybe you're feeling them too, that deep pull towards something more fulfilling than the traditional corporate grind? It's more than just hating your job; it's about a fundamental shift in what you want from your life and career. Here are some signs I recognized in myself, which might indicate you're ready to leave your 9-5 for freelancing or entrepreneurship: 1. The Monday Morning Dread That Lingers: I used to wake up on Sunday nights with a knot in my stomach. It wasn't just a bad week; it was a consistent, suffocating feeling of dread for the week ahead. If every Sunday feels like the end of your freedom and the start of a dreaded routine, that's a huge sign your current path isn't sustainable for your well-being. 2. Your Side Hustle Feels More Fulfilling Than Your Main Job: Are you spending your evenings and weekends pouring energy into a passion project that brings you more joy, and maybe even some income, than your day job? For me, those moments working on my own ideas felt like pure air compared to my corporate tasks. That 'E' for 'Entrepreneur' started calling my name louder and louder, signaling where my true passion lay. 3. You're Constantly Learning Skills Outside Your Job Description: I found myself devouring articles, podcasts, and online courses on building a brand, digital marketing, or graphic design – not because my job required it, but because I was obsessed with self-improvement for my future and my own business idea. If you're investing your time and energy into skills for a different path, you're practically building your escape route. 4. You Feel Stifled and Undervalued: The original post mentions feeling 'just a number,' and I totally get that. If your ideas aren't heard, your creativity feels boxed in, or you feel like you've hit a ceiling with no room for growth, that internal voice telling you to seek more freedom gets louder. You crave autonomy and the ability to make a real impact. 5. You've Started Building a Financial Runway: While my own exit was sudden, if you're planning to leave, having a financial cushion is crucial. Even a few months of savings can give you the peace of mind to take that leap without immediate panic. It's about betting on yourself, but with a strategic safety net that allows you to focus on building your new venture without constant financial stress. 6. You Have a Clear Vision (or at least a Strong Direction): It's not enough to just want to leave; what are you running *towards*? Having even a rough idea of what kind of freelancing or business you want to build gives you purpose and a roadmap. That clarity helps turn fear into excitement and provides a strong foundation for your entrepreneurial journey. If these signs resonate with you, it might be time to seriously consider making the leap. Start small: network with other freelancers, refine your skills, and maybe even test the waters with a side gig. It's a journey, and every small step builds momentum towards that incredible freedom of being your own boss. Remember, your biggest setback can truly be your biggest setup for something amazing!
