Okay, so I've been totally intrigued by this 'Ichor' series, and I had to share what I've learned about this wild world! If you're wondering 'what does Ichor do to humans' in this story, buckle up, because it's intense. This isn't your typical mythology retelling; it's a deep dive into a dark, dystopian future ruled by the gods. Basically, the ancient Greek gods have completely taken over. It's not just a little interference; they've overthrown the entire human world! Imagine living in a society where the gods are in charge, and not in a benevolent way. Humans aren't free; instead, they're treated as property, or perhaps even pawns in the gods' eternal games that unfold in grand arenas. From what I understand, humans are literally imprisoned until they reach their eighteenth birthday. Can you even imagine growing up knowing that? It sounds like a terrifying countdown to a completely uncertain future. And what happens on their 18th birthday? That's when things get truly dystopian. The gods engage in these brutal, arena-style games. It's not just for sport, though; these fights are to claim a human of their choice. So, a young adult's fate is decided by a divine battle, and they become the possession of whichever god wins. It's such a dark twist on classic mythology!
