Before KJ, I thought I knew what love was, but nothing prepares you for the profound, overwhelming love that washes over you the moment you hold your first child. It's a journey filled with so many 'firsts' – not just for them, but for you as a parent too. I remember those newborn days like they were yesterday, even though he's a young child now. The sleepless nights, the endless cuddles, the sheer wonder of watching this tiny human discover the world. Every gurgle, every tiny grasp of my finger, felt like a monumental achievement. I poured over baby books, second-guessed every decision, and operated on pure adrenaline and a whole lot of love. It’s funny how quickly those challenging moments fade into cherished memories, replaced by the joy of growth and development. Watching him grow from a helpless infant into a curious, independent young child has been the most incredible adventure. I think about all those milestones captured in photos – his first smile, his first steps, the triumphant look on his face when he built his first tower of blocks. Each stage brought its own unique joys and challenges. The toddler years were a whirlwind of energy and discovery, teaching me patience I never knew I had! Now, as he gets older, our conversations become more engaging, and I see glimpses of the person he's becoming, and it fills my heart with such pride. Being a first-time parent is a steep learning curve. There's no manual for raising your child, and you learn so much on the fly. But the bond you form with your firstborn is incredibly special. They are the ones who transform you into a parent, pushing you to grow in ways you never imagined. They teach you about unconditional love, resilience, and the true meaning of selflessness. Every birthday, like today, feels like a monumental occasion – a chance to reflect on the incredible journey we've shared and to celebrate the amazing person he is. If you're a new parent to a firstborn, cherish every moment, even the tough ones. The days are long, but the years are truly short. Before you know it, that tiny newborn will be a confident young child, making their own way in the world. And watching that growth, being part of that journey, is the greatest gift of all. It’s a love that just keeps expanding. For me, seeing his artwork proudly displayed, listening to his imaginative stories, or just watching him play with his friends brings such a deep sense of contentment. Every scraped knee, every triumphant cheer, every question he asks about the world around him, reminds me of the vibrant life he lives and the incredible impact he's had on mine. Sometimes I look back at old photos, like those collages showing him from newborn to young child, and I'm amazed at how much he's changed, yet how much of that original spirit remains. Happy Birthday, my wonderful firstborn. You truly are my greatest adventure.
