Can you safely eat this with braces?
Some foods are on the no list with braces and some or in the yes list. In this video I tried Cheetos mini and they were too crunchy. So no you should not be eating those with braces on.
When wearing braces, choosing the right foods is essential to avoid damaging the brackets and wires, as well as to maintain oral hygiene. From personal experience, I found that crunchy snacks like Cheetos mini tend to stick to the braces and can cause discomfort or even breakage. Soft foods such as cooked vegetables, yogurt, and smooth nut butters are safer alternatives that won’t harm your braces. It’s also important to avoid sticky sweets like caramel or gummies, which can get lodged in the brackets and are difficult to clean, increasing the risk of cavities. Instead, opt for fresh fruits that are softer, like bananas or peeled apples, and cut harder fruits into smaller pieces to minimize pressure. Drinking plenty of water helps rinse away leftover food particles, keeping your braces cleaner and reducing plaque buildup. Brushing and flossing regularly, particularly around the braces, ensures better orthodontic outcomes and fewer dental issues. Remember, the goal is to protect your braces while maintaining a balanced diet. Always consult your orthodontist or dental hygienist if you’re unsure about specific foods. Taking care with your diet not only prevents discomfort but can also shorten the overall treatment time by minimizing the chances of damage or dental problems.
