Nails I’ve Done (gelx and experimenting w acrylic)
i am not a nail tech, but i’ve always loved doing my nails. i mainly do gelx and ive been experimenting w acrylic lately bc i am considering going to school for it. my last and most recent set is a fill on my gelx, as i blend the tip and apply a layer of builder gel (similar to how acrylic is applied and filled)
Hey everyone! As someone who absolutely loves diving into the world of nail art as a hobby, I wanted to share a bit more about my journey beyond just showing off my latest sets. Like many of you, I'm not a professional nail tech (yet!), but there's something incredibly satisfying about creating beautiful nails right at home. My go-to has always been GelX, but I've recently started experimenting with acrylic, which has been quite the adventure! If you're wondering 'what is GelX?' — it's basically a full-coverage soft gel nail extension system. Unlike traditional acrylics or hard gels, GelX tips are pre-shaped and applied directly over your natural nail with a special gel adhesive, then cured under an LED light. It's fantastic for adding length and strength without the heavy drilling or damage often associated with other methods. For me, it was a game-changer for getting those perfect 'coffin-shaped nails' or sleek 'stiletto' looks I always admire on Pinterest. My 'nude celestial designs' with stars and moons are a personal favorite, often achieved with delicate hand-painting or tiny decals. Lately, I've been dipping my toes into acrylic, partly because I'm seriously considering going to nail school. It's a whole different beast, requiring more skill in product application and shaping, but the durability is incredible. My first time doing 'dark red stiletto-shaped acrylic nails' on my best friend was a learning curve, but so rewarding! It's taught me a lot about blending and building, which even helps with my GelX fills. Speaking of fills, my most recent 'GelX fill' involved blending the tip and applying a layer of builder gel – it’s a great way to extend the life of your set and add extra strength, similar to how an acrylic fill works. When it comes to 'nail art designs,' the possibilities are endless! I'm constantly scrolling through 'pinterest nail ideas' for inspiration. I’ve tried everything from intricate 'black nail designs' like my 'black coffin-shaped nails adorned with white celestial designs' to simpler 'white nails design' with delicate patterns. If you're looking for 'easy nail art black and white,' try classic French tips with a twist, like my 'black and white French tips' or even a 'yin-yang design' on an accent nail. I've also loved playing with 'red outlines' on my French tips for a pop of color, and those sweet 'red heart designs' are always a hit. For anyone wanting to try 'stars on nails,' there are a few ways to go. You can use tiny dotting tools for a scattered look, nail art brushes for more detailed constellations, or even star-shaped glitter or stickers for a quicker application. Don't be afraid to mix and match! For example, I've done 'clear coffin-shaped nails featuring black and white celestial designs,' and sometimes I wish I'd made the base a bit more opaque for a bolder look. Every set is a learning experience! Doing my own nails, whether it's 'GelX nails' or experimenting with acrylic, has been such a creative outlet. It allows me to express myself and constantly try new 'gelx nail designs' and 'gelx colors.' If you're on the fence about trying DIY nails, I say go for it! Start with simple designs, watch tutorials, and don't be afraid to experiment. It's all about having fun and rocking your unique style!

So beautiful! ❤️✨
