CANDY HEAVEN in Taichung 🍭🍬🍫

we were walking around the streets near Yi Zhong Street Night Market in Taichung and stumbled upon this candy store!!

and honestly , it felt like stepping into a mini candy museum 🧸

so many cute corners and shelves filled with sweets from around the world 🌎

💰 Price: 70NTD per 100grams (~$2.80sgd)

you get to pick your own packaging — from simple plastics to cute containers and boxes 🫙📦

then just walk around and fill it up with whatever candies you like!!

what we really love is that every candy container clearly states:

– whether it contains beef gelatin (super helpful for us 🥹)

– the flavour of the candy

– country of origin 🌍

– expiry date 📅

so you can pick confidently without guessing

there are sooo many varieties — gummies, marshmallows , chocolates, sour candies, nostalgic sweets… literally everything 😵‍💫

ended up spending around $10+ SGD and it was honestly such a fun experience!!

✨ highly recommend stopping by if you’re around Yi Zhong — super cute and worth the visit!

Beyond just picking sweets, what I found exciting was the way they let you customize your own candy collection. You start by choosing your favorite packaging—whether it’s a simple plastic bag or an adorable container—which adds a personal touch to your purchase. One feature that really stood out to me was how each candy container clearly lists important info like whether it contains beef gelatin, the flavor, country of origin, and the expiry date. This transparency made it so much easier to select candies confidently, especially if you have dietary restrictions or preferences. The variety is overwhelming in the best way — from gummies and marshmallows to chocolates, sour candies, and nostalgic treats that remind you of childhood. The shop is laid out in such a charming way, almost like a mini candy museum, making the whole experience fun and visually delightful. Prices are quite reasonable too, approximately 70 NTD per 100 grams, which is about $2.80 SGD. I ended up spending a little over $10 SGD and felt it was totally worth it for the unique experience and the amazing selection. Also, the staff are friendly and helpful; if you have questions while choosing or need assistance with selections or packaging, they’re there to help. It’s definitely a great way to indulge your sweet tooth while exploring the vibrant streets near Yi Zhong Street Night Market. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem on Taiping Road in Taichung City!

💫 Highly recommend to spend more time in Taichung and other cities as compared to Taipei - accomodations in Taipei is small and expensive (we stayed in two hotels near Taipei main station) 💚 Day 1 (Sun) 🏨 1969 Blue Sky Hotel - 5 out of 5 ⭐ Room is so spacious and comfortable and the bed is big
