advice when trying for a baby?
any tips are greatly appreciated!
(A little about me)
I am 20. I have been with my partner for 2+ years. We live with my parents, and don’t plan on changing that at the moment due to the house rates. I own my own bookstore and game store. I’m from NJ. We plan on trying once I turn 21 in May, and just want any tips, ideas, or planning ideas. I started taking prenatal and eating better, but need someone with experience trying to get pregnant to help me out. Thanks!
Hey, like you, when my partner and I started trying for a baby, we were looking for every possible advantage and piece of advice. It’s such an exciting, yet often overwhelming, time! One of the most common questions we had, and I know many others do too, was about the 'best' sex position for baby conceive. While there's no single magic bullet or scientifically proven 'best' position, the general idea behind certain suggestions is often to help gravity. Positions like missionary or being on your back are frequently mentioned because they allow for deeper penetration, which theoretically helps sperm get closer to the cervix. Some people also suggest staying reclined or elevating your hips with a pillow for 15-20 minutes after intercourse. The thought is that this helps to keep the sperm from flowing out immediately, giving them a better chance to make their journey. While scientific evidence on how much this truly impacts conception rates is mixed, many couples find comfort in trying these methods as part of their routine. The most important thing is to enjoy intimacy and not let the 'trying' aspect overshadow your connection. Beyond just positions, truly preparing my body was a huge focus for me. This involved more than just cutting out bad habits; it was about optimizing my health from the inside out. My diet became a priority. I leaned into nutrient-dense foods – lots of leafy greens, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Cutting back on highly processed foods, excessive caffeine, and sugary drinks felt like a big step towards a healthier me. Of course, continuing those prenatal vitamins with folic acid is absolutely key! Staying really hydrated also felt important for overall well-being and energy levels. For workouts, I didn't become a gym fanatic, but I did aim for consistent, moderate exercise. Brisk walks, some light yoga, and swimming felt great. It’s about maintaining a healthy weight and good circulation without overdoing it, as intense, high-impact exercise can sometimes impact ovulation. Listening to my body was crucial here – some days I felt energetic, others I just needed a gentle stretch. It's about finding a balance that feels good and supports your body, not stresses it. We also focused intently on tracking my cycle precisely to identify my fertile window. Ovulation predictor kits (OPKs) were super helpful in pinpointing those key days. And honestly, reducing stress was a game-changer for both my partner and me. We tried relaxation techniques, spent more quality time together, and made sure to keep our communication open. It's easy to get caught up in the pressure, but remembering to enjoy the process and our time together made a huge difference. Every step felt like we were actively working towards our dream, and getting comprehensive advice from those who've been there made all the difference. Wishing you all the very best on your journey!

It takes an average woman 3 months to get pregnant. Me and my man have been trying for almost 3 months and it hasn’t stuck yet so maybe eventually but honestly your body will know if you’re ready or not.
