✨ How I Cut Dishwashing Time Down to 20 Minutes ✨

Because sensory sensitivity + wet food = absolutely not 😭🍽️

Here’s my little system that changed everything:

🧤 1. Rubber Gloves = LIFE

I’m super sensory-sensitive to wet food textures, so wearing gloves is non-negotiable.

It lets me wash faster, stay in “flow mode,” and not cringe every 2 seconds.

🔥 2. Hottest Water Possible

I wash dishes at the highest hot-water temperature—

it literally melts the food off so I’m not scrubbing forever.

It saves energy (mine 😂) and cuts down the whole process.

🧽 3. Dish Wand > Sponges

Dish wands are elite because the soap is right there.

No constant reaching, no dripping mess, and way more efficient.

🫧 4. Sink Strainer + Net = Clean Queen

Adding a tiny net to your sink strainer catches everything.

My sink stays cleaner, drains better, and I don’t have to touch gunk. Ever.

💛 End result:

My dishwashing routine went from chaotic 40+ minutes to a solid 20-minute clean every time.

Let me know if you want my full “sensory-friendly kitchen hacks” list 👀💛

... Read moreIf you struggle with dishwashing because of sensory sensitivities or just want to speed up the process, some key tools and techniques can make a huge difference. Wearing rubber gloves protects your hands from wet food textures that can be uncomfortable, allowing you to stay focused and maintain a steady rhythm without constant irritation. Using the hottest water possible not only sanitizes but also helps dissolve stuck-on food, significantly reducing scrubbing time and physical effort. Dish wands with built-in soap dispensers are a game-changer compared to traditional sponges. They keep soap right where you need it, minimize dripping messes, and reduce the need to constantly reapply soap. Cleaning with these tools helps maintain flow and efficiency. A sink strainer combined with a small net catches food particles effectively, preventing clogs and keeping your sink cleaner. This simple addition removes the unpleasant task of handling food waste and keeps dishwater flowing freely. Together, these essentials—rubber gloves, hottest water, dish wands, and sink strainer nets—not only cut your dishwashing time dramatically but also create a calmer, more pleasant experience for those sensitive to wet textures or slow scrubbing. Incorporating these small but thoughtful changes into your kitchen cleaning routine will help you enjoy more free time and a stress-free environment. If you’re interested, exploring further sensory-friendly kitchen hacks can optimize your entire cooking and cleaning workflow, from meal prep to cleanup, making daily chores easier and more enjoyable.
