2021-2024
Here’s my progress. Slow but steady. I was never fully constantly doing what I now know is right for me and my body. I’m taken weight lifting seriously for about a year now. I have the support from my dad who used to be a body builder, as well as my HS weight room teacher with her knowledge. I’m excited and ready to continue my 75 medium and my weight lifting journey!!

It's incredible to look back at how far I've come on my fitness journey, especially seeing my own progress from 2021 to 2024. When I first started, I wasn't really sure what 'taking it seriously' meant, but after a year of consistent effort in weightlifting, it's become a huge part of my life. For anyone feeling like their progress is slow, trust me, I've been there! The key for me has been celebrating small victories and focusing on consistency over perfection. Don't get discouraged if you don't see massive changes overnight. Our bodies are amazing, and they adapt over time. One of the biggest game-changers for me was embracing weightlifting. If you're new to it, don't be intimidated! I started with bodyweight exercises and light dumbbells, gradually increasing the weight as I got stronger. Having my dad, a former bodybuilder, and my high school weight room teacher guiding me has been invaluable. They taught me proper form, which is crucial to prevent injuries and maximize gains. I'd recommend finding a good online resource or a trainer if you don't have personal mentors. Start with compound movements like squats, deadlifts, and presses, and remember to listen to your body. Recovery is just as important as the workout itself! My current challenge, the #75medium, has really helped solidify my discipline. It's a fantastic way to build healthy habits, focusing on daily workouts, hydration, reading, and mindful eating. It’s not just about physical strength but also mental resilience. I've learned so much about myself during this challenge, like how to push through when I'm tired or how to make healthier food choices even when cravings hit. Speaking of food, that brings me to a personal little hurdle I call my 'vikki_cheese moments.' We all have those comfort foods or treats we adore, right? For me, sometimes it's a specific cheesy snack that I just love. It's not about cutting them out completely, but learning to incorporate them mindfully. My #groceryessentials list now includes more fresh produce, lean proteins, and whole grains, making it easier to prepare nourishing meals. But during this journey, I've learned how to enjoy my 'vikki_cheese' in moderation, perhaps as a planned treat rather than a daily indulgence. It's all about balance and not feeling deprived, which is key to a sustainable #healthylifestyle2024. This approach has honestly made my journey much more enjoyable and realistic. Remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint, and every step of progress, no matter how small, counts!
