saying goodbye?
If you own a Honda, you just know 🥺
This was my very first car. I was super late getting my license at 18 because I grew up in an unideal situation. My best friends parents took me in and when they take in a child, they really mean it. I never had parents that helped me get in a place I needed to be or help me get out of a situation until I moved in with her family. The very first thing they did was taught me to drive and made sure I got that license and then her dad took me car shopping.
It wasn't a fancy dealership and it was by all mean not a new car. This little Honda came from a family owned used car lot... had 60k miles priced at $7,500 and my bestie's dad got a loan and I paid it off. Did that help my credit at all? No. But I had a car and I was in a safe space and I cannot thank them for how much they helped me become the person I am today.
This little car got me to many places, saw me marry my husband of now 10 years (married for 5 this october), saw the loss of 2 beloved pets and all of the animal puke that came with those heart breaks, took me to numerous new jobs, and went with me through 4 new apartments. And drove me to my childhood beach town 4 hours there and back many times. I love this little car!
Unfortunately, the oil has metal in it so her engine is sick. The only thing I really hated about her was the peeling top coat but inside and out she was perfect!! We could do an engine swap because my husband has built cars but...
This week is my bday so my husband is taking me to the Honda dealership to trade her for a lease that he's helping with!! and I just know I'm gonna cry like a baby. This car is pretty much an attachment of me. I am, however, excited to enter 29 with a new car ??? I've never made such a purchase and with my own credit 🥹 wish me luck!
