She said my Amazon package was a “gift” and refuse
So my Amazon package worth around $150 got delivered to a completely different apartment building. The delivery photo showed the wrong complex, so I drove there myself to try and sort it out.
A woman answered the door and basically told me she thought the package was a gift for her (like seriously??) and that she’d already opened it, so she was “keeping it.” It was skincare products too — not something you’d just mistake for a random present.
I reported it to Amazon, but they said I have to wait a couple of days “in case it still gets delivered.” Like… how? It’s literally in this woman’s house.
I ended up filing a police report, and fun fact turns out she’s on probation for mail fraud. 🤯 The cops went to her place, she denied everything, and apparently started yelling so they ended up arresting her. Now I’ve got the report and Amazon said they’ll refund me once the delivery window officially closes.
I can’t believe people really steal packages and then act like you’re the problem for asking for it back. Would you have gone straight to the cops or just let it go?
