My dad has been hyping me up all week for the big day lol. I couldn’t help but to think this thought when my dad was teasing me for buying him lunch & putting $13 in fuel back into his 4Runner. He paid for brunch this morning btw. Like dad… I’ve been gone all afternoon, plus we ate at Braum’s before I left. Plus everything he already does to help me out since I’m kinda limited on what I can do; Of course I’m going to buy you lunch & replace the fuel I used up + some. I know he loves his TB & V8s are expensive to keep fuel in these days, it’s the least I could do.

I have a list of comparasions of my parents - how they treat me, how they react, how they teach me, etc. My dad always wins that contest. The one thing that gets hard to accept is that my dad comes from a 3rd world country & a broken childhood background yet he’s the most grounded, humbled, best supporter. Meanwhile, my American mother is so mf ungrateful.

I can mom shame my mom all day but it’ll never fix what’s broken inside of her. Hell, even having those uncomfortable conversations with her doesn’t even fix her. We’ve had those before. She is forever the victim & her kids will always be the problem. Except for her favorite, the oldest. I spent a long time trying to understand it. I’ve had to accept her for how she is but it’s safe to say she isn’t the parent I bond with the best. No contact is best with parents like her.

I aspire to be a parent like my dad. I don’t ever want my child to feel the things I’ve felt about my mother. I know my baby will have both parents present & even tho both us parents are Americans, we both come from different parts of the map… just like my parents. I expect things to get hard at times but I refuse to relive that cycle my mom created with abandoning her kids. I started taking life a lot more serious when I was told I was pregnant. Just doing some serious thinking before it’s my time to shine. I’m so excited to be able to finally hold my genetic creation & love him unconditionally in this demension.
