When preparing churrasco with tostones and chimichurri sauce, a few tips can really elevate the dish. Using fresh parsley combined with cilantro adds a unique, vibrant flavor to the chimichurri that’s more complex than using just one herb. The addition of shallot and red jalapeño or chili brings a nice subtle heat and depth to the sauce, which complements the grilled steak beautifully. For a truly authentic churrasco experience, marinate your steak lightly in the seasoning mixture of salt, pepper, and garlic powder just before grilling. This keeps the flavors fresh and allows the meat’s natural taste to shine. Be sure to grill the steak over medium-high heat to get a nice char while keeping the inside tender and juicy. When making tostones, using green, unripe plantains will yield the best crispy texture. Slice them evenly and fry twice – once to cook through and a second time after smashing them to achieve that crispy golden outside. Tostones are excellent not only as a side but also as a base for toppings or dips. The red wine vinegar and lemon juice in the chimichurri add a bright acidity that cuts through the richness of the beef and fried plantains, balancing the flavors perfectly. Refrigerate the chimichurri sauce before serving to let the flavors meld together. From my experience, serving this combination for a casual barbecue or family dinner results in a satisfying meal that’s easy to prepare and impresses with authentic Latin American flavors. Don’t hesitate to adjust the chili level in the chimichurri depending on your heat preference, and experiment with adding fresh oregano or other herbs to customize the sauce further.
