Everything in my Waitress Folder
Hihi!!
I thought I’d show everything I’m keeping in my waitress folder as a brand new server!! I’ve never been a waitress before, so I’m excited, but I thought I would show everything I’m going to be keeping in my folder until I have the menu studied better :)
Starting your journey as a waitress can be both exciting and daunting. This article provides an inside look into the essentials every new server should maintain in their waitress folder, especially if you're working at popular food establishments like Texas Roadhouse. In the initial stages, it's crucial to familiarize yourself with the menu, including food items, drinks, and special promotions. Every folder should contain a comprehensive menu guide that highlights the restaurant’s offerings. Highlight key items, daily specials, and any significant ingredients—having this readily available will help you confidently answer customer inquiries and make recommendations. Additionally, include training materials or resources you've gathered, such as tips from experienced waitstaff about handling customer service. Understanding how to communicate effectively with guests and your team can significantly elevate your performance and enhance the dining experience for customers. Consider placing notes about common customer questions or preferences to refer back to when needed. Furthermore, it's beneficial to note the particularities of your workplace, like seating charts or reservation details, to allow you to handle guest flow efficiently. Knowledge about customer favorites or busiest times can also prepare you better for peak hours. Lastly, don't forget to maintain sections for personal achievements, such as positive feedback you receive from customers or managerial recognition. Tracking your progress will boost your confidence while serving. As you navigate your new role, make it a point to update your folder regularly, ensuring it reflects current menu changes, new dishes, and best service practices. By doing so, you'll not only streamline your service but also impress your customers with your expertise and readiness!

This would stress me out lol the only things I have in my server book are my pad to write orders on, my receipts people put their tips on throughout the day, a few lunch cards to hand to people (Applebees lunch shift), and a sticker a little girl at one of my tables gave me like a year ago. And then I use the back of my pad to write down my tips from the day.
