Turkey Cake

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a bit more about this special Thanksgiving order that brought so much joy. Creating festive desserts for the holidays is one of my favorite things to do, and this set was particularly fun to put together. Let's talk about the star of the show: that delicious chocolate turkey cake. To make it truly stand out and taste incredible, I always start with a rich, moist chocolate cake base. It’s these little details that transform a simple cake into a delightful Thanksgiving centerpiece. Complementing the turkey cake were the spice cupcakes, adorned with beautiful edible autumn leaves. To get that amazing fall flavor, I infused the cupcakes with a blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hint of ginger. For the edible leaves, I used wafer paper, which is fantastic for intricate designs. I cut them into leaf shapes and then lightly brushed them with edible food coloring dusts to give them a natural, vibrant look. They just melt in your mouth! And who can resist a cherry pie in cupcake form? My cherry pie-decorated cupcakes started with a vanilla cupcake base, hollowed out slightly and filled with a homemade cherry pie filling. A dollop of vanilla buttercream on top, a lattice crust made from thin strips of pastry or fondant, and a tiny 'cherry' in the center completed the look. It’s like having a mini pie without all the fuss! What I love about making these themed desserts for Thanksgiving is how they add an extra layer of warmth and fun to the celebration.
