One big thing I personally do to help calm the overstimulation, is spending time in my Bible study!
As a mom many of us are running on literal fumes!
Physically, emotionally and mentally!
For me, the quiet time in the word is what helps me emotionally and mentally, on a daily! I’ve always been pretty open with my faith, and I love and respect everyone so please respect that this is what works for me!
Just spending an hour or so couple times a day sometimes or even just a few minutes through out the day, helps me and my mental health so much!!
Other things that help me:
Getting out of the house with my little guy and driving around so he falls asleep on days when he just refuses to nap!
Grocery shopping by myself… believe it or not, this helps me a lot too lol.
Taking a nap on weekends when we are all home. Dad gets to be fully in charge.

Carving out quiet time, especially through Bible study, offers a peaceful retreat that supports emotional wellness and mental clarity. This practice aligns with many mothers’ need for spiritual grounding, helping them manage daily stress with a sense of calm and hope.
Beyond spiritual nourishment, small self-care routines contribute significantly to a mom’s well-being. Taking solo trips for grocery shopping may seem simple, but these moments alone allow for mental resets without interruptions. Similarly, driving around with your little one until they fall asleep provides a soothing break when usual nap routines fail. Prioritizing rest with short naps during weekends, while sharing caregiving responsibilities, is another effective way to restore energy.
It's important for moms to recognize that these 'little things' collectively enhance mental health and help combat the effects of overstimulation. Gentle routines and time dedicated to quiet reflection can serve as anchors amid the noisy demands of motherhood, fostering resilience and emotional balance throughout the day.
Incorporating these strategies rich in faith and practical self-care can empower mothers to navigate parenting challenges with a more centered and peaceful mindset. Remember, finding what works for you—whether spiritual engagement or simple daily escapes—is key to nurturing your mental health and overall well-being.
