Tips for taking your pup to the dog park

Dog parks are fun! But you have to be careful… follow these tips to be a good dog pawrent!

1. Never let your dog out of your sight!

2. Clean up if they have an accident inside the park.

3. Intervene if they or another dog show any signs of aggression before it gets to be a problem.

4. Buy a travel water bottle from Amazon ($8) to provide fresh water to your pup when they need a break

5. Know their limits! Remove them when they seem too tired

Additionally, consider having a first aid kit as part of your essentials; this will help you address any minor injuries or emergencies. Watch for signs of fatigue; a tired dog may become irritable and may not react well to sudden excitement in the park. Create a plan for breaks—both for you and your pup—allowing for relaxation time during your visit. Lastly, being proactive in social situations will make your trips to the dog park enjoyable and safe wild experience, keeping both your pet and others happy!
