I went over board after telling myself I wasn't gunna go over board and don't even get me started on my sons 🤣
I can totally relate to the feeling of planning to keep things reasonable but ending up going overboard, especially when it comes to treats and snacks. It seems that the excitement of sharing sweets, like Haribo candy and other goodies, can really get the better of us—and even more so when kids are involved! For me, creating a basket full of fun snacks and small treats feels like a special way to connect with my family and indulge a bit. I’ve noticed that incorporating themed games or snacks, such as card games or unique candies, can turn a simple gathering into a lively and memorable moment. Plus, having hair ties or little accessories around adds a personal touch. One time, my kids and I sat down with a basket of treats and some card games, and it quickly turned into a joyful, laughter-filled afternoon. Sometimes, these moments of going “overboard” aren’t just about the snacks themselves but the shared fun and bonding time they foster. Also, while it’s easy to get caught up in the enjoyment, it’s helpful to keep an eye on moderation and balance. For example, mixing candy with small toys or engaging activities helps maintain excitement without overindulging. In short, indulgence with family—even when it feels like going overboard—adds warmth and joy to everyday life. Embracing these sweet moments has become a cherished part of our family traditions.
