Part 5!!!

Hey journal fam! I'm still buzzing from creating the latest installment for my 'Dandy's World' junk journaling series, and I just had to share more about our superstar, Tisha The Tissue Box! Seriously, she's become one of my absolute favorite characters to bring to life on the page, especially in her fabulous lavender maid persona. When I first envisioned Tisha, I wanted her to embody a sense of neatness and charm, perfectly fitting for a tissue box, right? The idea of a 'maid' just clicked – someone who brings order and a touch of elegance to any situation. Designing this particular vibrant junk journal spread was a blast. I knew I wanted to celebrate Tisha's personality, which the OCR picked up as her 'organized nature.' To do this, I started by creating several cartoon cutouts of Tisha The Tissue Box in various poses. For her maid outfit, I chose a lovely shade of lavender, which instantly gave her that soft, clean, and slightly whimsical vibe. It hints at freshness, just like a new box of tissues! Each cutout captured a different facet of her character, from diligently tidying up to gracefully posing. For the collage background, I dove deep into my stash of vintage postcards and floral designs. I layered these elements carefully, aiming for a look that felt both classic and cozy, creating a perfect stage for Tisha. The vintage postcards added a sense of history and charm, while the floral designs brought in that gentle, natural beauty that complements the lavender palette so well. I also incorporated handwritten script throughout the spread. This really personalizes the journal page and makes it feel like Tisha's own story is unfolding right before your eyes. In one corner, I added a small text box where I described Tisha's organized nature, giving a little narrative peek into her world. If you're looking to create your own character-driven junk journal spreads, here are a few tips I picked up from my experience with Tisha. First, really think about your character's essence – what makes them unique? For Tisha, it was her 'tissue box' origin and her 'organized' personality. Second, don't be afraid to experiment with different materials. Mixing vintage ephemera with modern illustrations, like my cartoon cutouts, can create a really dynamic and engaging visual story. Third, color palettes are key! The lavender for Tisha’s maid outfit wasn't just a random choice; it communicates calmness and cleanliness, reinforcing her role. Finally, remember to add little personal touches, like the handwritten script or a small descriptive text box.
