Creative director Sabato De Sarno stayed the course, showing more Ancora red leather, sporty tailoring, lingerie looks, horsebit accessories and nods to famous Gucci customer of yore Jacqueline Kennedy.
The muse was Jackie O, a Gucci client way back when and global style icon to this day, one who’s inspired countless designers over the decades.
“When I made my research in the archive I found someone describe her style as ‘casual grandeur.’ These words stayed with me for my creative period,” Sabato De Sarno explained to Vogue.
The Kennedy clan is freshly relevant—Ryan Murphy just announced he’s producing a new TV show about John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy—so the Jackie link was a bit of synchronicity.
... Read moreAfter seeing the Gucci Spring 2025 collection, I'm absolutely buzzing with inspiration! Sabato De Sarno's homage to Jackie O really shone through, giving us that 'casual grandeur' he spoke about. But beyond the muse, let's talk about the actual pieces that caught my eye and how we can bring that Gucci magic into our everyday.
First off, that striking long, flowing red coat paired with light wash jeans and a matching red handbag? Chef's kiss! I absolutely loved that look. It perfectly embodies the "Ancora red" trend the collection is pushing. Imagine draping that over a simple white tee and jeans – instant sophistication. It shows how even a statement piece can feel effortlessly chic when styled right. This is definitely a look I'd want to recreate for a polished yet comfortable vibe.
Then there was the elegant tan two-piece ensemble – a cropped jacket, bralette, and midi skirt, accessorized with a small handbag and brown boots. I think this screams versatility. You could wear the pieces separately, pair the jacket with high-waisted trousers, or the skirt with a cozy knit. It’s a beautifully tailored set that feels both modern and timeless, perfect for transitioning from a chic daytime event to an evening out.
The all-white look, featuring a ruffled top, mini skirt, wide-brim hat, gloves, and heels, was pure drama and elegance. While the full runway look might be a bit much for daily wear, I'm taking notes on the individual elements. A crisp white ruffled top with denim, or a white mini skirt styled casually – it shows how powerful monochromatic dressing can be. And those white pointed-toe heels with delicate ankle straps featuring the Gucci logo? They are the ultimate statement shoe, adding a touch of luxury to any outfit.
I also can't get enough of the vibrant pieces. The lime green patterned jacket, matching mini skirt, bucket hat, handbag, and heels were such a playful explosion of color. It reminded me that fashion should be fun! Wearing a bold color like that can instantly elevate your mood and your outfit. And speaking of accessories, the iconic white belt with a silver interlocking 'GG' buckle is a must-have for cinching waists and adding that signature Gucci touch. I also spotted a gorgeous white Gucci handbag with an embossed 'GG' pattern, a prominent 'GG' logo clasp, and a gold chain strap, which is a classic that will never go out of style.
My personal favorite might be the flowing brown one-shoulder draped dress, paired with gold arm cuffs and black boots featuring horsebit details. This embodies "casual grandeur" perfectly. It’s elegant, yet the draping and boots give it a relaxed, bohemian edge. For those looking for something unique, the white handbag with a black abstract lip print and a classic bamboo handle was a true showstopper.
Finally, the olive green sporty zip-up jacket and matching shorts look was another standout for me, paired with an olive green handbag, heels, and sunglasses. This really highlights the "sporty tailoring" aspect. It's chic athleisure taken to a high-fashion level. I'm loving how Sabato De Sarno made comfort look so incredibly luxurious.
Overall, the Gucci Spring 2025 collection delivers on style, sophistication, and a fresh take on iconic inspiration. I’m already thinking about how to incorporate these beautiful textures, colors, and subtle nods to classic Gucci into my own wardrobe. What were your favorite pieces from this collection?
