One of the best ways I handle difficult emotions is through writing a journal. I have been keeping one since I was 11 years old. I had seen the movie, My Girl, and the main character, Vada, kept a diary and it inspired me too. Almost every thought, every want, every sadness, every joy, and every confusion went into my journals. I have around 5 from my younger years and two from adulthood as well as the one I keep now. It’s not something I do daily, or weekly anymore. Now I mostly do it when I am thinking of something frequently or because I am trying to think something difficult through. I also like doing journal prompts as you never know hoe ling or how passionate you are about something until you are asked. When it’s your journal you can use it however you want and share it or not with whomever you want.
