How I Met My Boyfriend
The story of how I met my boyfriend! I love telling people the story of how we got together so much because I get so happy revisiting these moments!
🌟It all started in 7th grade (almost 7 years ago) when I joined middle school track. He was in 8th grade and was one of the faster sprinters. I think it was just how fast we were and his cute smile that caught my attention. Unfortunately I looked like a nerd with my rec specks so I never talked to him. Plus he had many other options back in the day and I did not compare to them. He then got a girlfriend so my little crush on him added, especially because the next year he went into high school and I was still in middle school.
🌟Now ofc I didn’t stop thinking about him my 8th grade year. I was so excited to see him going into high school! I wasn’t too sure if he was in a relationship still but in all honesty I just wanted to see if he changed at all, because I did. I was feeling more confident freshman year. Got contacts, started wearing a little mascara, was varsity starter for soccer and track. I’m not too sure what sparked him adding me on snap, but it was around soccer season in early September. I was so excited! Definitely the best day of my life.
🌟When he added me on snapchat we would have conversations here and there. Nothing flirty it was just us talking about soccer most of the time and track. I knew he had a girlfriend and she was also a good friend of mine my sophomore year so I made sure on my end I kept the conversations friendly. I also want to add that we both didn’t know we had feelings for eachother (obviously) we both thought the other felt mutual about each other as a friend. We also never talked to eachother in person, it was only ever on snapchat
🌟The summer going into my junior year I did kinda lose feelings for him because I felt his relationship was going to last long. The reason I felt this wasItem: because in his friend group all of there relationships where long so I just assumed it would be that way with him as well. Additionally I was also talking to someone who I really liked. This party was about the last week of summer because most of our friends had to go to college. Now they had already had one party before that I couldn’t make so I was very excited to go. I can’t lie I was excited to see Ryan because I haven’t seen him since track. At this time he had broken up with his girlfriend but I wasn’t aware of this.
🌟Leading up to kissing him everyone was just hanging around, playing games etc. We were talking about relationships and that’s when he mentioned he had broken up with his gf. At this point all of my feelings came back for him. And we were all in a different state of mind, but my friend said we should all get in the hot-tub. Now there’s like 8 of us in this hottub so it’s a little tight. I’m sitting across from him and all of a sudden my friend dares us to kiss each other. I don’t know why where we’re selected because I never mentioned to anyone that I had had feelings for him. We both were kinda like no no like it’s not going to happen and then I was like kinda like why not. So I swam over and sat on top of him (so he couldn’t swim away lol) and kissed him. Another best moment of my life was when he kissed me back. After that we shared a little twin bed and spent the whole night, and literally I mean until 6:30AM talking. We just talked about everything kinda like catching each other up. And if was silly things like our favorites, things about our family etc.
🌟After the party he took me on our very first date which was mini golf followed by ice cream. We were both nervous because we hoped we could talk a lot just like we had a couple nights before. Everything ended up perfect and it was the best date I had ever been on. When he took him home I asked if we could do another loop around my house cause I didn’t want the night to end. That’s when he said he knew I was a keeper. This is still in August so once we got into September he asked if I wanted to be his girlfriend. I was so excited because I had been wanting this for so long but I just kept my patience. We have been dating for two years now, going on 3 in September.❤️

Being with him these past two years, going on three, has been an incredible experience. It feels amazing to have a partner who truly gets you, someone who was there from those awkward middle school days, and who I confessed my crush on since middle school. We've created so many new memories, like those playful moments captured in photos, and we're always looking for new adventures, just like we're still two kids jumping into life together. Honestly, having a boyfriend who started as your long-time crush is surreal. It's like a dream come true! It's about having that constant support, someone to share all your silly stories with (like how we stayed up until 6:30 AM talking after that party!), and creating new memories, whether it's mini-golf dates or just hugging on a dock at sunset. We still tell our 'how we met' story all the time, and it never gets old. It reminds us of how far we've come since those casual conversations here and there on Snapchat, to that incredible party where I kissed him and we stayed up all night talking. It’s definitely a story to tell your boyfriend – and everyone else! For anyone out there with a secret crush, or if you're just starting a new relationship, here are a few things I've learned that might help your own romance stories: Patience is key! My story definitely taught me that. Don't be afraid to be yourself, and let things unfold naturally. And most importantly, cherish those everyday moments. True love isn't just a fairytale; it's about building something real and beautiful, day by day, and appreciating every step of the journey, from the first time you met your boyfriend to all the years that follow. Our true love story continues to evolve, and I wouldn't trade these experiences with my boyfriend for anything.
