Travel Tip

... Read moreVenice is truly a one-of-a-kind destination that offers an extraordinary blend of history, art, and natural beauty. One of the best ways to experience Venice is by embracing its unique transportation system—forget cars and buses, here the primary modes are walking and boating. When visiting, I found that purchasing a Vaporetto pass for water buses gave me great flexibility to hop on and off at different parts of the city and nearby islands like Murano and Burano. Another tip is to venture beyond the popular spots like St. Mark’s Square and Rialto Bridge. Getting lost in the narrow alleyways and local neighborhoods reveals charming artisan shops, cozy cafes, and quiet canals that many tourists miss. Early mornings or late evenings are wonderful times to explore as the crowds thin out and the atmosphere feels more intimate. When dining in Venice, avoid restaurants with menus in multiple languages or those that heavily tout their tourist appeal. Instead, ask locals or look for eateries with a local clientele to savor authentic Venetian cuisine such as cicchetti (small plates) and fresh seafood. Lastly, keep in mind Venice’s delicate ecosystem by following responsible tourism practices—always dispose of waste properly and respect local customs. With these tips in mind, your trip to Venice becomes an unforgettable adventure filled with rich cultural experiences and breathtaking sights.

Travel tip: Visit multiple neighborhoods in 1 day
The plan for our third day in Tokyo was to explore Ginza and Shinjuku (Omoide Yokocho in particular). At first, I wasn't sure if two neighborhoods would be sufficient but by the end of the day, there was still so much that hadn't been explored yet. In Ginza, we did a ton of shopping in the
