3 of the B

Since I was about 10 years old my skin has always broken out. It has ALWAYS been a struggle for me! Recently, as I’ve gotten older I’ve been experiencing with a lot of different things to try to clear up my skin, and allow it to breathe, and thrive. I’ve fallen in love with this combination!

I start by cleansing my face with the cerave hydrating face cleanser in the shower, making sure to really massage it into my face while paying closer attention to my problem areas!

After the shower, I PAT my face dry DONT rub. I then apply a pea sized amount of the glow recipe watermelon pink juice moisturizer as cleansing my face tends to dry my skin out, causing more breakouts!

I then wait about 30-60 mins and then I’ll apply the neutrogena hydro boost ultra hydrating serum to really lock in the good moisture my face needs!

I really recommend this combo if you have oily, acne prone skin!

... Read moreAs someone who's battled acne and oily skin for years, finding a truly 'safe' and effective routine felt like a never-ending quest. Beyond just picking the right products, I've learned that understanding why certain things work – and why others don't – is key to keeping your skin happy and healthy. One of the biggest lessons for me has been the importance of a gentle approach. My initial instinct was to aggressively "scrub away" breakouts, but that only made things worse. That's why I gravitated towards products like the CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser. What makes it so safe for sensitive, acne-prone skin? It's packed with ceramides and hyaluronic acid, designed to cleanse without stripping your skin's natural barrier. A healthy skin barrier is your first line of defense against irritants and bacteria, so nourishing it is crucial. I now understand that a "safe" cleanse is one that removes impurities while helping to restore the protective skin barrier, not damage it. Hydration is another game-changer. It sounds counterintuitive for oily skin, right? But denying your skin moisture can actually trigger it to produce more oil, leading to more breakouts. This is where lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizers like the Glow Recipe Watermelon Pink Juice Moisturizer come in. It's a fantastic example of a product that offers hydration without feeling heavy or clogging pores. For me, finding a moisturizer that is both effective and feels 'safe' has been pivotal. My skin feels plump and soothed, rather than greasy. The OCR also mentioned it's "Clean + Planet Positive" which adds another layer of safety and ethical appeal for many. And then there's the serum step. The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Ultra Hydrating Serum became a staple because of its focus on deep, lasting hydration. Its fragrance-free formula is a huge plus for those with sensitive skin, as artificial fragrances can often be irritating. Knowing it offers clinically proven 72-hour hydration means I'm giving my skin long-term support, keeping it supple and less prone to irritation. It truly helps to lock in that good moisture my face needs, just like the article mentioned. Beyond specific products, I've adopted a few 'safe' practices that have transformed my skin. Always, always do a patch test when introducing new products, especially if you have oily, sensitive, acne-prone skin. Apply a tiny amount to an inconspicuous area, like behind your ear or on your inner arm, for a few days to check for reactions. This simple step can save you a lot of grief. Another tip? Don't forget SPF! Even if you're not directly treating acne, sun protection is paramount for preventing post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and maintaining overall skin health. Listening to your skin is probably the safest advice I can give – if something feels off, gently stop, and adjust your routine. It's a journey, not a race!
