The Y Line Review. ep93: Things That Deserve to Die 🔫

Things That Deserve to Die is a manhwa that was initially thought to be a normal head-hunting mafia action, but after reading it for a while... well! Why become a killer who is going to be hit by a heart-hunting mafia instead? 😂

The story starts with "Eshakyong," a top-class killer who has just closed his job, but instead of getting paid, he's thrown a new mission ten times worth of money! The goal is "Kang Il Hyun," the most powerful Mafia gang heir in South Korea.

So Shakyong had to disguise himself in a smooth way, but the problem is... Kang Il Hyun is not stupid, elder! 😂 caught in the first place that this person came in to kill himself, and instead of sending his men to keep quiet in the typical Mafia style, he made the ultimate offer:

"Become my personal killer?"

I read here and have to put down my phone and ask myself, OK, is this a mercenary or a girlfriend application? 🤣 What I like very much is the chemistry of this couple, the force without trying, the thinking, the bargaining, the game back and forth. Every scene is like watching two people compete about who will fall for the other first.

Especially Kang Ilhyun is a mafia that is both hypocritical and dangerous, but charismatic to understand why Shakyong starts to lose his symptoms, and Shakyong is a good killer, smart and stubborn, but the more he tries to escape, the more he approaches the other's trap a little bit.

The other thing I like is that this story is constantly inserted, making the atmosphere not too stressful, even though the main plot is full of mafiosi, assassinations and dangerous games. Read and win, laugh and be embarrassed at the same time. 😳

In short, if you like the Mafia x Killer genre, enemy relationships that gradually become more dangerous than enemies, strong chemistry, charismatic characters, and smiling conversations throughout the story, this is really difficult to read and stop, because finally, the "easy-to-kill, hard-to-die" person may not be a killer, but the reader who has been hit by this pair is unable to withdraw. 🫠❤️‍🔥
