Sometimes we don’t value the small gestures… until they’re gone.
I’ve learned that not everyone knows how to embrace you with their soul. There are people who see you and smile as if your existence alone is enough to make them happy… and that, as simple as it seems, is rare.
Rare and precious.
Not everyone knows how to sit in silence without making it uncomfortable. Not everyone holds your hand without rushing, without hidden intentions—just because they want to share that moment with you.
And that’s when I understood something:
It’s not always about how long someone stays, but how they do.
Because there are people who pass through your life like a moment… yet leave a mark that never fades.
And yes, it hurts to accept that not everything beautiful is meant to last forever. That even the most genuine, the purest connections sometimes come with an ending.
But I also learned this:
It’s not about holding on so they don’t leave.
It’s about loving better while they’re here.
Don’t hold back your words.
Don’t postpone your hugs.
Don’t assume there will always be “another time.”
Because what’s truly sad is not that someone leaves…
it’s realizing too late what they meant to you.
So if someone came to your mind right now…
if their name appeared without effort…
don’t ignore it.
You may not control time,
but you can choose how you live it.
Care.
Love.
Make it real.
And if one day everything changes…
let there at least be peace in knowing
you didn’t lack the courage to feel,
or the love to give.
— Because in the end, it’s not about who stays forever…
it’s about not failing while they’re still there.
