My non negotiable rules as a mother
This is just me.🤷🏼♀️
You pick your battles as a mother, and these are mine. ❤️ #momrules #sahm #normalizenormalhomes
As a mother, establishing clear boundaries and consistent routines is essential for nurturing a secure and supportive environment. One of the key rules is ensuring baths every night, which helps children wind down and feel comforted before bed. This practice promotes good hygiene and a calming bedtime ritual that fosters better sleep. Respecting your child's food preferences is another cornerstone—I believe in not forcing them to eat what they dislike. This approach encourages a positive relationship with food without pressure or conflict, fostering autonomy and trust. Communication is vital. I insist that if someone tells my child something important, they should inform me as well—never bypassing the parent—which ensures transparency and safeguards my child's wellbeing. Saying goodbye properly reinforces social norms and emotional closure. Importantly, we do not use the word 'hate' towards anyone or anything, promoting kindness and emotional intelligence from an early age. Encouraging empathy and respect lays the foundation for healthy relationships. Lastly, treats are given regularly, not just as rewards but as expressions of love and joy within the family. This creates a balanced approach to discipline and affection, enriching family bonds. These non-negotiable rules stem from a calm, intentional parenting style that chooses battles carefully and fosters a nurturing home atmosphere, demonstrating that a mother's priorities can set the tone for a child’s development and happiness.
