how i stopped feeling anxious in love

i didn’t realize how much my past shaped the way i loved—until i started healing it. my anxiety wasn’t about my partner, it was about the scared parts of me that didn’t trust love could last. i’ve learned to calm my nervous system. to anchor myself in truth, not fear. and most of all, to stop measuring love by how much i have to chase it. now, i feel safe in love. not because it’s perfect, but because i am finally safe within myself.

... Read moreAnxiety in relationships can often stem from past experiences and unresolved issues. Many individuals, just like I did, may find themselves spiraling over minor incidents—a delayed text or an unexpected tone. These feelings can lead to the belief that love must be earned through constant effort, which in reality, should not be the case. Therapy has played a crucial role in my healing journey. Learning to self-soothe and address my anxious thoughts helped me realize that it’s my responsibility to heal my wounds rather than expecting love to cure them. As I became more aware of my emotions and developed healthier coping strategies, I began to feel safe within myself. This sense of security allowed me to experience love in a more authentic light. Instead of viewing love as a performance or a constant chase, I now embrace it as a place of rest and acceptance. Understanding that love is not conditional on my actions, but rather a mutual bond, has been liberating. By focusing on my own growth and nurturing my self-worth, I’ve built a more stable foundation for my relationships. If you're struggling with anxiety in love, remember that the journey to finding peace starts within you. Embrace self-reflection, seek help when needed, and strive to create a loving environment for both yourself and your partner.
