How I Calm My Nervous System When I’m Anxious

Finding a centered place where I feel balanced is critical when I feel I'm in an anxious state. Here is a list of key ways I calm my nervous system when I'm feeling anxious.

01. Being in Nature

Sometimes I can get stuck in my head when I feel anxious. What helps a lot to get unstuck is walking in nature. Doing anything that allows me to involve myself and focus on what's around me helps ease my mind.

02. Breathwork

Breathwork allows me to put my mind at ease when I can focus on one thing. I can calm down when I can breathe deeply at a slow and steady pace. This signals out parasympathetic nervous system and helps me to create steadiness in my mind.

03. Avoiding Caffeine

I noticed a pattern when I would drink a cup of coffee and feel anxious throughout the day. When I begin to feel anxious, I avoid caffeine for a few days to allow my body to reset. Instead of caffeine in the mornings, I opt in for a green juice or kombucha to brighten my day.
