Rather than accepting the hurt as deserved, I started seeing it as an opportunity to learn about my needs and boundaries. Self-compassion became a key part of this journey. By allowing myself to feel sadness, anger, and disappointment without judgment, I gradually rebuilt my self-esteem. Using tools like journaling and talking to supportive friends helped me process my feelings without sinking into self-pity. I also discovered that healing involves recognizing that "love hurts sometimes," but it should not define us. Painful truths can be transformative when embraced with kindness toward oneself. It’s okay not to be okay immediately after a breakup — healing is not a race but a path of small steps and self-discovery. In the end, forgiving yourself and understanding that no one deserves to be hurt is essential for moving forward. By sharing this, I hope others find comfort in their healing process and start nurturing self-love even amidst sadness.
