how i deal with skin irritation & backne 🥹

7/21 Edited to

... Read moreDealing with skin irritation and back acne can be frustrating, especially when the cause is less obvious than direct skin contact or diet. From my experience, one surprising culprit is actually the dust mites and bacteria that live in our furniture. Dust mites thrive in couches, mattresses, and cushions, feeding on dead skin cells and creating an environment that triggers allergic reactions and skin problems. I noticed my backne persisted despite using various skincare products until I realized my sofa and bedding were accumulating dust and oils from daily use. This buildup not only harbored bacteria but also released dust into the air whenever I moved or sat down, irritating my skin and respiratory system. To tackle this, I started cleaning my furniture regularly with vacuum cleaners equipped with HEPA filters and used hypoallergenic covers on mattresses and pillows to reduce dust mite exposure. Washing cushion covers and linens weekly also made a massive difference. Ventilating my home frequently helped improve air circulation, minimizing airborne allergens. Additionally, maintaining personal hygiene by showering after sweating and avoiding sitting for long periods without refreshing the furniture area helped reduce sweat and oil buildup that can worsen breakouts. This approach, focusing on the environment around me rather than just topical treatments, significantly improved my sensitive skin condition and reduced backne flare-ups. If you struggle with similar issues, consider examining your living environment and adopting thorough cleaning routines to break the cycle of irritation caused by dust mites and bacteria in furniture.

🌙 Heard of skin cycling?
Instead of using multiple active ingredients every night, skin cycling focuses on rotating exfoliation, targeted care and recovery nights to help maintain a balanced skincare routine. The goal? Giving your skin time to recover while still enjoying the benefits of your favourite skincare actives.

From breakouts to better skin! ✨
Ever since my last acne battle (when I was younger like about 21yo), my skin was left with some acne scars but apart from that, no active pimple. I’d say it was after my pregnancy that it slowly got better. After that, I never only had breakouts once in awhile and it clears up after a few days
