CRUSHED MY 40KM GOAL 🏃♂️💨 (48.10KM Week!)
Started the week feeling completely wiped out, but ended up smashing my 40km goal and banking a massive 48.10km over 6 days! 🚀
Here is the breakdown of my high-volume, Zone 2 training week:
📊 The Weekly Stats:
• Total Distance: 48.10 km
• Days Ran: 6 days back-to-back
• Average Pace: 7’01” /km
• The Vibe: Relentless.
👟 Fresh Foam: Anta PG7 Journey
I broke in my brand new Anta PG7s this week (that navy/white colorway is incredibly clean 🧊). I threw them straight into the fire with over 43km of pavement pounding right out of the box.
• The Verdict: The cushioning is an absolute lifesaver. If you are doing high-volume, steady-state Zone 2 miles, these eat up the impact and save your legs.
🧠 Biggest Lesson This Week
You don't need to run fast every single day to build a massive engine. Keeping my heart rate down in the 120s and cruising around a 7'00" pace allowed me to stack back-to-back 10km days without getting injured. Slow down to go further!
Taking a mandatory zero-impact rest day today to let the calves rebuild. 🧘♂️

From my experience, the key to successfully completing a demanding weekly mileage like 48km is consistency paired with smart pacing. Zone 2 training, which targets a controlled heart rate zone around 120 bpm, helps build endurance without overstressing your body. I found that sticking to this approach allowed me to run back-to-back days of around 7-minute kilometers comfortably. Breaking in new running shoes, like my Anta PG7s, during such a high-volume week can be challenging, but the exceptional cushioning of these shoes truly made a difference by absorbing impact and reducing leg fatigue. I highly recommend trying shoes with ample fresh foam cushioning if you plan a similar volume of runs on pavement. Another essential strategy is to respect rest and recovery. Taking a full zero-impact day to let muscles rebuild, especially calves, helped me avoid injury and maintain performance. This rest day after multiple consecutive running days is crucial for long-term progress. If you’re aiming to increase your weekly mileage, start by establishing a comfortable pace that keeps your heart rate in the aerobic zone. Slow down if needed—speed isn’t the priority every day. Lastly, stay motivated by sharing your weekly goals with a running community. Accountability, combined with personal discipline, creates a positive environment to push your limits sustainably.
