FAQs:
☆ I do not work with children. I am a designated school official at an English language institute in ATL, GA. Our students are 18+.
★ Most of everything is secondhand unless stated otherwise! My goal by posting GRWMs is to show other young/alt/plus size professionals that you can find creative ways to express yourself while saving a little money, being more sustainable, and sticking to a dress code. :)
☆ I usually like to give myself a couple of hours to get ready in the morning but since I don’t have a super consistent schedule, it varies from day to day! For example: I start getting ready at 9am if I head to work at 11am or 6am if I leave the house at 8 and so on!
★ I am also a professional creative makeup artist. This is why I prioritize glam! 💄✨
Feel free to leave any other questions in the comments, I appreciate your support more than I can even express! 🫂
As someone who has embraced sustainable fashion and creative beauty routines for work, I can relate deeply to the philosophy behind this GRWM post. Incorporating mostly thrifted and secondhand clothing like tops, skirts, and dresses not only drastically cuts down costs but also helps reduce waste in the fashion industry—a win-win for budget-conscious and eco-aware professionals alike. From personal experience, the key to pulling off a polished work look with thrifted items is mixing classic staples with trendy accessories. For instance, pairing a simple thrifted skirt with a handmade floral choker or vintage-inspired rose necklace instantly elevates the outfit’s uniqueness without sacrificing professionalism. This approach fits perfectly within dress codes at educational institutes where you want to maintain an approachable, yet refined presence. On the makeup front, prioritizing glam as a professional creative makeup artist resonates with me. Utilizing beloved products from well-known brands like Melt Cosmetics’ So High Mascara, Morphe’s Cheek Thrills palette, and Pixi Beauty’s Glow-y powder provides a long-lasting, vibrant finish well-suited for busy, unpredictable mornings. I particularly appreciate the effectiveness of multipurpose items, such as setting powders and primers paired with setting sprays, to maintain a fresh look all day. Another useful tip is managing your morning routine by allowing flexibility in preparation time depending on your work schedule. Some days, dedicating a couple of hours to get ready translates to the confidence needed to face challenges, while other days, a quicker routine works when time is tighter. This fluidity helps keep the process enjoyable rather than a rushed, stressful task. I encourage everyone in professional roles—even non-traditional ones like designated school officials at language institutes—to explore self-expression through makeup and clothing that honors personal style but also respects workplace norms. By sharing these GRWM insights, the post inspires plus-size, alternative fashion enthusiasts to embrace sustainable choices while staying glam and career-ready. It’s a reminder that style and professionalism can thrive together without costly compromises.
