FAQs:
☆ I do not work with children. I am a designated school official at an English language institute in ATL, GA. Our students are 18+.
★ Most of everything is secondhand unless stated otherwise! My goal by posting GRWMs is to show other young/alt/plus size professionals that you can find creative ways to express yourself while saving a little money, being more sustainable, and sticking to a dress code. :)
☆ I usually like to give myself a couple of hours to get ready in the morning but since I don’t have a super consistent schedule, it varies from day to day! For example: I start getting ready at 9am if I head to work at 11am or 6am if I leave the house at 8 and so on!
★ I am also a professional creative makeup artist. This is why I prioritize glam! 💄✨
Feel free to leave any other questions in the comments, I appreciate your support more than I can even express! 🫂
As someone who has embraced both professional life and sustainable fashion, I find that expressing personal style at work can be empowering, especially when adhering to dress codes. In my experience, curating a work-ready look using mostly thrifted or secondhand pieces not only helps reduce environmental impact but also challenges creativity. For example, shopping at places like Goodwill can uncover unique, vintage accessories and clothing that add character without breaking the bank. This approach aligns well with being a designated school official or similar roles where style and professionalism must balance. When it comes to makeup for work, prioritizing glam while keeping it long-lasting is key. I’ve found products like a reliable setting powder and mist indispensable, as they help maintain a fresh face through an often long workday. Cream primers and well-pigmented palettes allow for a polished yet approachable look that can be customized daily. Time management is another important factor. Giving myself ample time in the morning means I can enjoy the process, experiment a bit, and ensure everything—from makeup to outfit—is cohesive. However, fluctuating schedules may require some flexibility, and having go-to products and outfits ready can save stress. Finally, being part of the plus-size community, I appreciate seeing representation in professional fashion spaces. Sharing such GRWM content helps normalize diverse body types and styles, encouraging confidence and inclusivity in the workplace. Overall, integrating glam makeup with thoughtful, sustainable fashion choices creates a fulfilling and authentic work style identity.
