Heavenly Bodies 👼🏻🤍⚔️✨
Still o proud of this look I created in collaboration with @brooquecreative inspired by Lana Del Rey’s 2018 MET look 👼🏻🤍⚔️✨
I tried my best to recreate the angel wing headpiece Lana wore on my eyes and even brought it out into my hair using faux feathers for extra texture and “wingspan”. I also added the beth-dazzled halo in between the eyes, which I think really brought the look together! 👼🏻 I stacked up a ton of necklaces to try to take up as much space on my chest as the gorgeous sacred heart chest piece Lana wore 🤍 and also stacked a bunch of metal duck bill hair clips to try to emulate the sword motif also incorporated in the chest piece. ⚔️

When I first attempted to recreate Lana Del Rey's 2018 MET Gala look, I found that focusing on texture and layering really made all the difference. Using faux feathers not only in the headpiece but also integrating them into the hair added a dynamic wingspan effect that truly captured the angelic feel. I recommend trying different types of feather materials to see how they work with your lighting and hair type. The addition of a glittering halo between the eyes serves as a unique focal point that brings harmony to the overall design. Stacking necklaces can sometimes feel overwhelming, but closely observing the sacred heart chest piece Lana wore helped me balance the jewelry visually, ensuring it complemented without overpowering the look. Don't hesitate to mix metals and styles for a richer texture—something I found essential to mimicking the authentic vibe. The metal duck bill clips to emulate swords incorporated a compelling edge, proving that small details hold great power in makeup-themed recreations. In terms of products, using glitter and metallic powders such as Mehron’s metallic powder and HipDot’s Tapatío Hot Sauce glitter enabled me to replicate that glowing and radiant effect that shines under event lighting. Working with these products requires patience and layering, so applying a good glitter primer helped with longevity and intensity. I also experimented with various glitter hues like Microcosm and Holy Goldie, layering them for complex depth. Lastly, embracing the imperfections and personal touches can elevate your recreation from a simple copy to a unique homage, making it more enjoyable and expressive. Don’t be afraid to tweak colors or add personal flair—this creative process ultimately makes the look your own and more fulfilling to wear or showcase. This approach, combined with quality products and detailed accessories, really brings the spirit of the MET gala look to life.
